SOS Children's Villages USA is seeking an SEO and Digital Engagement Intern to support the Marketing team. The Marketing team manages SOS Children's Villages USA's social media accounts, website, email marketing, media campaigns, paid ads, and other digital communications. You will learn from industry professionals, contribute to real projects that help children in need, and make a meaningful impact on our organization's online presence.
Tasks/Projects
As an SEO and Digital Engagement Intern, you will play a crucial role in optimizing online visibility and enhancing user engagement for the organization. You will work closely with our Marketing team to develop and implement strategies that improve our website's search engine rankings and increase organic traffic.
- Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for improving search engine rankings.
- Optimize website content, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and alt tags, to enhance visibility and click-through rates.
- Collaborate with content creators to develop SEO-friendly content that aligns with our target audiences and business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools and Google Analytics.
- Engage with online communities, forums, and discussion platforms relevant to our industry to build brand awareness and drive traffic.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO and digital marketing.
- Assist in other Marketing initiatives and tasks as needed.
Skills
- Current enrollment in a relevant degree program or earned degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and techniques, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
- Familiarity with popular SEO tools such as Google Analytics and SEMRush.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Additional Information
- This is an unpaid internship, but it provides valuable experience with an international NGO that helps children around the world.
- This position will be fully remote for the duration of the internship. We therefore encourage individuals in any U.S. location to apply.
- We offer a flexible schedule with a preferred minimum of 20 hours per week (with the possibility of working up to 40 hours per week).
- Credit hours can be provided if applicable.
- The internship will run from approximately June 2023 - August 2023, with the possibility of extension.
