Senior Manager of Paid Digital Advertising (Remote)


SOS Children's Villages USA ("SOS-USA") is the United States philanthropic affiliate of a large worldwide Federation, SOS Children's Villages International. A public charity, SOS-USA draws revenue from sponsors of children and villages, sustainers, major donors, foundations, and corporations, across direct mail, digital and direct cultivation.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager of Paid Digital Advertising will work closely with the Marketing team to navigate the complex world of modern digital advertising and marketing. We'll look to you to envision, execute, and refine our integrated digital strategy. This is a high growth, high visibility area with plenty of opportunities to enhance your skillset and build your career. This position will report to the Associate Director of Digital Engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

There is no such thing as a typical day. You will support multiple teams internally and support business development activities on strategic and federation priorities. You will be a digital advertising solution owner and subject matter resource. You are proficient in creating, implementing, managing, and reporting on all paid media strategies.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Possesses a working knowledge of how digital strategies fit into the broader Marketing picture
  • Assists the Associate Director of Digital Engagement in the development and implementation of strategic communications plan and content strategy that supports SOS strategies and increases the visibility of the SOS brand.
  • Supports and manages developing solutions and possesses a growth-mindset - someone who challenges long-held assumptions about how things have always been done.
  • Execute tests, collects, and analyzes data, identifies trends and creates insights in order to achieve maximum ROI and ROA in paid media campaigns.
  • Tracks, reports, and analyzes paid media initiatives and campaigns across the customer journey.
  • Proposes and implements initiatives and solutions to achieve identified fundraising and brand-awareness objectives; identifies and tracks key performance indicators.
  • Remains current on digital and marketing technology trends.
  • Possesses a knack for gathering business requirements, asking the right questions, and understanding how that information fits in with the organization's needs.
  • Conducts paid media assessments and develops roadmaps to help achieve marketing objectives.
  • Executes all Google Ads and maintaining Google Grant and Bing Grant.
  • Implements and analyzes tracking ads in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Possesses a leadership mindset and mentor's colleagues.
  • Partners on other projects, such as SEO and updating the website.
  • Manages relationships with other internal and external marketing team members.
  • Optimize current operations and streamline processes to support organizational strategies.
  • Commit to aspire for and maintain, report, and respond to the required conduct of the Child Protection Policy of SOS International. (Safeguarding children - SOS Children's Villages International (


  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business or related disciplines.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus in digital advertising; equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in nonprofit advertising and targeting.
  • Experience in SEM, display advertising and social media marketing and deep understanding of industry performance standards.
  • Experience with A/B testing of ads, bids, landing pages and keywords.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to use data to measure campaign performance and optimize for ROI and KPIs.
  • In-depth experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Capable of delivering contextual, thoughtfully presented data visualizations in regard to ads.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to explain technical concepts to a functional audience.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to accurately track and report on KPIs, ensuring that critical activities are carried out at targeted volume in order to deliver expected results.
  • Strong ability to understand questions and develop and deliver clear insights.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the organization's core mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Passion for the work of SOS Children's Villages and the vital role we play in empowering children, youth, families and entire communities.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Demonstrated advanced Excel, Google Analytics or Power BI experience
  • Google Ads and Bing Ads certifications
  • Experience with SEO optimizations
  • Graphic design skills in PhotoShop or Canva
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet demanding deadlines within a fast-paced, collaborative environment - without sacrificing quality
  • Experience with CRM database

This position can be based in Washington, DC or remote within the US.
