Coordinator, Sponsorship Experience

Organization:

SOS Children's Villages USA is the United States philanthropic affiliate of a large worldwide Federation, SOS Children's Villages International. A public charity, SOS Children's Villages USA draws revenue from sponsors of children and villages, sustainers, major donors, foundations and corporations across direct mail, digital and direct cultivation.

The Opportunity:

The Coordinator, Sponsorship Experience will support the Sponsorship team's goals of acquiring new sponsors, retaining current sponsors and ensuring the quality of the sponsorship experience. The ideal candidate will prioritize superb donor communication and customer service. This individual will communicate daily with sponsors on multiple platforms and maintain sponsor data in our CRM, collaborating across teams at SOS Children's Villages USA and with international colleagues. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Sponsorship and work closely with the Director of Branding, Content, and Sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Communications (35%)

  • Act as customer service representative for donor inquiries while following best practices.
  • Respond to all donor comments, questions, suggestions and feedback in a timely manner, including monitoring email accounts and scheduling sponsor visits to international villages.
  • Develop stewardship materials, both digital and offline.

Sponsorship Processes (40%)

  • Manage sponsorship processes in our CRM, working with the Senior Manager, Sponsorship.
  • Communicate regularly with the international office, acting as a program expert/resource for all sponsorship program needs.
  • Manage special acknowledgements and pull associated data.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Sponsorship with crisis communications by sharing relevant and timely information with sponsors as emergent situations arise.
  • Pull sponsorship data reports.
  • Coordinate with mailing vendor for mailings and invoicing.

Additional Responsibilities (25%)

  • Act as backup for the Senior Manager, Sponsorship.
  • Assist as needed with organization-wide fundraisers and volunteer engagement activities.
  • Learn best practices and build industry knowledge to contribute to the organization's success.
  • Commit to aspire for and maintain, report and respond to the required conduct of the Child Protection Policy of SOS International. (Safeguarding children - SOS Children's Villages International (sos-childrensvillages.org))

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 1-3+ years' experience working in a donor relations or customer service role.
  • Experience with relationship building and fundraising.
  • Experience working in a CRM database.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Willingness to learn new internal systems.
  • Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working independently and organizing workload to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • An adaptable multi-tasker who thrives in a creative, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Passionate about the work of SOS Children's Villages and the vital role we play in empowering children, youth, families and entire communities.

This is a hybrid position that may require one day per week in the Washington, DC office.
