Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising and Marketing

SOS Children's Villages, one of the largest NGO's dedicated to providing loving homes for orphaned and abandoned children, is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising and Marketing to support our digital fundraising activities. The position is located in Washington, DC. SOS Children's Villages believes in a loving home for every child. We build families for children in need, help them shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities. As the world's largest organization dedicated to orphaned and abandoned children with a presence in 135 countries including the US, we provide stable, loving homes to more than 80,000 children in over 500 villages. Our medical, education and family strengthening programs impact another 1.1 million people annually. 

Position Summary

SOS-USA is developing a five-year plan to increase funds raised in the US to support SOS programs worldwide.  We believe that digital fundraising has tremendous potential to support rapid growth of SOS-USA over the next several years. 

This is a crucial role to SOS-USA (and SOS global operations in 135 countries) in our efforts to expand our digital footprint and support SOS Children Village's revenue growth.  This position will be responsible for the development of our Digital Sales Marketing strategy, Social Media, and Audience development.  

The Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising and Marketing will work to achieve the objectives of the Marketing program to 1. Raise funds, 2. Engage and retain audiences 3. Expand reach through strategic donor list growth. The position is responsible for strategy development, set-up, maintenance, and monitoring of digital fundraising and online systems that drive the mission and goals of the organization.

This position will manage our website, developing and executing an ongoing optimization strategy that includes strategic content development and a focus on SEO to improve search rankings. The role will also manage the strategic planning, execution, and analysis of major multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns. The role will also be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues to develop the content for our growing email program. This position supports the digital efforts of other departments in the organization and reports to the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing and collaborates closely with CEO, team members in the US, Austria and SOS offices in many countries.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree.
  • At least 5 years of digital fundraising and web-related maintenance, SEO, technical support experience in an non-profit environment.
  • Strong successful track-record in the development and implementation of major digital initiatives, with a proven track record with metrics-based marketing campaigns on digital platforms.
  • Experience optimizing, growing and managing email programs.
  • Experience leading paid media campaigns including planning, audience targeting, creative development, testing and analysis.
  • Excellent presentation skills using PowerPoint, Excel, Word a must.
  • Must be hyper-enthusiastic about ever-evolving social media trends and the digital landscape.
  • Deep knowledge of WCMS, email marketing and web analytic tools such as Google and Adobe Analytics. Knowledge of Engaging Networks and Kentico is a plus.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web technologies and standards.
