SOS Children's Villages, one of the largest NGO's dedicated to providing loving homes for orphaned and abandoned children, is seeking a Manager, Fundraising Data and Analytics to develop and manage the data architecture necessary to support SOS-USA's various fundraising activities.  The position is located in Washington, DC.

Position Summary: 
The Manager, Fundraising Data and Analytics will have three core responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of SOS-USA's data systems

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to support the functioning and growth of the organization's data architecture

  • Analyze data individually and collaboratively with SOS-USA teams and vendors to identify, develop, and capture revenue stream.

Specific Responsibilities
Data System Management (Est. 45%)

 

  • Facilitate the transfer and ensure the integrity of data transferred through all systems, including SOS-USA's CRM (Revolution Online or ROI), Engaging Networks, donation services (Facebook, Rallybound, PayPal), the SOS-USA caging vendor, and the other services
  • Perform regular and ad hoc data needs such as importing data to ROI, exporting data from ROI and other data systems, and writing SQL queries

  • Support the Finance Department with reconciliation, programmatic fund designations, and transfers

  • Serve as the point of contact for data transfers between SOS-USA and SOS International using the SOS International DataBridge

  • Develop and maintain coding systems, maintain inventory of SQL queries, and similar activities

  • Create and oversee the budget for database functions

  • Train staff, interns, fellows, and volunteers to effectively utilize the CRM database and other data tools. 

Data Architecture Strategy Development and Execution (Est. 35%)

  • Evaluate SOS-USA's data architecture and accompanying systems and processes to identify opportunities to consolidate, innovate, and implement lean solutions to improve data management and use

  • Plan for and implement updates and integrations to ensure the functionality of SOS-USA's data systems, particularly ROI, the proprietary SOS International DataBridge, and Engaging Networks

  • Participate in strategy meetings to provide input to the marketing, annual giving, major, and planned giving functions teams.

Revenue Generation (Est. 20%)

  • Collaborate with each department to identify opportunities for automated reporting; use business intelligence software, programming languages, and/or statistical software to create and maintain automated reports

  • Analyze data using the above-mentioned tools to identify revenue growth opportunities; collaborate with teams to use analysis to drive the development of fundraising strategy

  • As appropriate, identify new data tools and vendors that support revenue generation (ex: WealthEngine); serve as point of contact with vendors to ensure they optimize their services for SOS-USA's needs. 

Necessary Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of experience or Master's Degree with 3-5 years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing data operations for fundraising, business intelligence, research, and other relevant applications

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools and software (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

  • Experience using data to create specific, actionable insights to improve processes, products, services, etc.

  • Experience with project management, development of custom reports, and delivery of detailed strategic analysis.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, use independent judgment, and follow through with minimal supervision.

  • Highly organized and extraordinary ability to implement plans and ensure their completion to meet deadlines.

  • Experience developing and overseeing a budget.

  • Strong attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Revolution Online (ROI), Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or other CRM systems as well as knowledge of merchant vendor services and direct mail processors

  • Direct experience with fundraising operations ideal

  • Familiarity with other programming languages and statistical programs (R, Python, Stata, etc.)

  • Supervisory experience.
