Title Coordinator (Senior Coordinator), Donor Stewardship

Position Summary

SOS Children's Villages has a robust and growing individual giving program. The Coordinator, Donor Stewardship plays an important role in the program by engaging, retaining, and upgrading donors, with a focus on getting individuals to sign-up to become monthly sponsors of children or villages worldwide or become sustaining donors. This includes:

  • Creating meaningful opportunities to learn about the SOS Children's Villages programs.
  • Developing and implementing overall sponsor and donor-centered stewardship strategies.
  • Maximizing donor interactions to solicit and upgrade donors.
  • Managing sponsorship processing and communications.
  • Manage and support offline committed giving acquisition channels.

 

The Coordinator, Donor Stewardship implements the day-to-day administration of the stewardship and offline acquisition programs and acts as a donor-centered/customer service representative for all donor and sponsor inquires that cannot be answered by the front desk. He/she reports to the Director, Integrated Marketing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and build on stewardship plan to retain more donors and sponsors in support of fundraising goals.
  • Manage offline committed giving efforts including annual schedule, concert partner acquisition program, integrated sponsorship campaigns and support management of other acquisition programs.      
  • Maximize sponsor and donor interactions to upgrade donors and solicit sponsorships.
  • Manage timely and successful execution of all sponsorship retention and stewardship activities including: creating and sending sponsor welcome packages and other communications, managing credit card decline process, and managing execution of personalized communication with donors.
  • Communicate daily with international office on sponsor matters.
  • Keep up to date on international sponsorship program information and act as program expert/resource for all sponsorship program needs.
  • Act as front-line customer service representative for all donor/sponsor inquires.
  • Respond to all comments, questions, suggestions, and feedback in a timely manner. This includes monitoring sponsors@sos-usa.org email account and scheduling sponsor visits to international villages.
  • Develop stewardship materials including sponsor profiles, updates for website (in collaboration with the Coordinator, Online Sponsorship), and other projects as defined with supervisor.
  • Assist with testing sponsor acquisition conversion strategies including following up on sponsor leads.
  • Work to ensure acknowledgment and stewardship of high profile donors in a personal and timely way. Assist Major Donor Department in stewarding identified sponsors.
  • Assist as needed with organization-wide fundraisers, and volunteer engagement events and activities.
  • Act as back up for Manager, Sponsorship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with two-three years' experience working in a donor or customer service program.
  • Experience with fundraising, program, and budget management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in a CRM database.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs to include: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working with a team.
  • Experience interacting and working with diverse staff and donors.
  • Affinity to the cause of SOS Children's Villages.
