Reports To: Manager, Annual Giving and Stewardship


Position Description

Fellow will support the Marketing and Communications Team, with a particular focus on offline marketing strategies as they relate to growing mid-level donor and sponsorship programs. Assignments would include research into effective strategies to market SOS Children's Villages to mid-level donors and sponsors. Additional research into effective relationship building techniques for donors that are scalable and cost effective in preparation for end of year fundraising goals. Additional support will be required for the sponsorship program with support in country research and story development for sponsor communications.

Key Responsibilities and Learnings:

  • Research current trends in non-profit Mid-Level giving programs;
  • Assist in the research and production of Mid-Level communications to donors and sponsors;
  • Assist in developing multichannel marketing strategy for Mid-Level Donors;
  • Story development and research for country specific updates to sponsors;
  • Learn about the mechanics of a direct marketing program and the donor life-cycle from acquisition to retention to reactivation; and
  • Learn different methods of relationship building with individual and segmented groups of donors.



 Ideal candidate should possess:

  • A BA Degree; Non-profit or Marketing, Journalism or International Relationsdesired
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong proofreading, grammar and copywriting skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and participate in cross-departmental planning
  • Impeccable attention to detail while overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

The fellowship will support specified initiatives for a 3-6 month period.  There is a stipend offered.
